Once upon a time, Rachel was one of the busiest raccoons in the forest.
She worked a long shift at her day job. She took care of her children, her husband and her home. She helped her parents and friends and volunteered at Tree Top School. She organized birthday parties, planned vacations, and went to yoga in the park. Plus, she found the time to help other forest animals who needed her every day.
“I’m so busy! I barely have a minute to rest before someone needs help again,” Rachel Raccoon said.
Rachel was too busy to pay attention to her own body. She didn’t stop to take care of herself or think about the stress and exhaustion.
One day, Rachel got very sick and couldn’t get out of bed. She was exhausted and ill.
“Oh no! I’ll have to miss work. I won’t be able to cook or clean or take care of my family. I won’t be able to do anything for the other forest animals,” Rachel said while coughing.
Rachel spent more than a week in bed.
She almost lost her job. Her kids ran wild through the house. Her husband almost ruined the entire kitchen as he tried to cook. Her parents, co-workers, and others complained about her being sick.
Rachel the raccoon slowly realized she was so busy taking care of everyone else that she forgot to think of her own well being. And as a result, so did everyone else.
“I’ve focused so much on others, but I completely forgot about my own health,” Rachel said.
Rachel gathered all her family, friends, coworkers and other forest animals together.
She told them there would be BIG changes ahead. She wasn’t going to neglect her health anymore. It was time for her to find a balance between helping them and taking care of herself. Now, they would have to help out too.
Rachel got better and never forgot about her health again.
The End.
Epilogue
Rachel is no longer an exhausted raccoon. Instead, Rachel is a vibrant and energetic raccoon that has time for everything and everyone that she loves.
Rachel called a Life Coach in a nearby forest. Together, they discovered what was really important to Rachel. They talked about her needs and family values and eliminated those thoughts and beliefs that held her back.
Rachel and her coach brainstormed lots of options to help her be more productive and have a clear mind. Rachel began to take action to create a life she loved. She also slept better, had more energy during the day, and enjoyed stronger, healthier relationships. And her fur has never been lovelier!
